Live gaming, like online casinos, started out as a niche market and then, thanks to technological advancements – catapulted to mainstream gambling. Today, live gaming and live casinos are an essential part of the casino games package. Naturally, the live gaming market would require its own conference – the Live Gaming Summit.
This year, one of the topics that will be addressed is the rise of female gamblers; in a previously male-driven environment.
The Rise of Female Gamblers
The call for a diverse player base was sparked at this year’s ICE Totally Gaming Conference. At the event, Sarah Harrison, former UKGC CEO, said: “organisations that prioritise diversity and inclusion gain a higher market share and have a competitive edge in accessing new markets.” She added: “if you are attracting women to your business then you need to think about why that is because any idea that women are simply not interested in gambling is not the case.”
It’s not uncommon to find suggestively clad female croupiers and dealers in land-based casinos. In an effort to duplicate the live casino experience online, live dealer casinos have employed the same method. However, Karolina Pelc, Casino Director at LeoVegas is against the method. She said: “making live casino about the experience and not the depth of the dealers’ cleavage – something which you can already see with leading providers is, therefore, the way forward for everyone.”
According to Pelc, she knows “that a large portion of players cares much more about the pace of the dealing and the quality of the stream, as well as solid customer service, than the pretty girl at the table.” Incidentally, Pelc is set to be a speaker at the live gaming summit.
About the Live Gaming Summit
The event will return for its second year on April 26th. This year, the exclusive Casino Barcelona will host the summit. Alongside ongoing live blackjack and live roulette tables games.
