About Matt Graham

Graham’s love for skiing begun when he was just six years old when he joined the Perisher Winter Sports Club mogul program.  At 23-years old, Graham has amassed an impressive list of achievements.

Graham made his Olympic debut in 2010 at the Vancouver Winter Games. He finished seventh in the 2013 Sochi Olympic World Cup; this was a test event. The following year, he was placed seventh in the men’s moguls final.

He has achieved all the above and is currently studying towards two degrees at the University of Newcastle.

Matt Graham isn’t the only Aussie making headlines though. In fact, Alex Ferlazzo made Olympic history when he secured the country’s best ever men’s luge result. However, he wasn’t pleased with his result; he said: “it’s disappointing coming to the Olympics and not having the result you wanted.”

PyeongChang was Ferlazzo’s second Olympics, and while he was disappointed with his results, he still recognised the importance of the event. In fact, he said: “the Olympics are the pinnacle of the sport and in saying that, this is still the best season I’ve had.”

Better luck next time mate. Moving on to Brittney Cox who was poised to take gold for her country in the moguls. However, a mistake on the top jump resulted in her finishing fifth; while Perrine Laffont from France took gold. Cox went into the games with two World Cup wins and a record for the ‘most dominant individual season’ by an AU winter sports athlete.
